Myka Place

Meet Elefly

The Heart, Symbol and Soul of Myka Place

Who Is Elefly

Elefly is more than a character. Elefly is a symbol of safety, strength, gentleness, and emotional connection created with intention, lived experience, and a deep understanding of what children with disability need to feel secure. Elefly represents how we care, why we care, and the standards we hold ourselves to every day.

More About Elefly

Elefly Embedded in Our Care

Elefly is embedded into staff training, trauma-informed practices, emotional regulation strategies, daily routines, and transitions into and out of respite. She reminds our team that how care is delivered matters just as much as what care is delivered.

Strong Care, Delivered Gently

Elefly exists at the intersection of strength and softness. She represents care that is structured yet flexible, protective yet empowering. This balance sits at the core of Myka Place and guides every interaction and decision we make.

Our Commitment Through Elefly

Elefly represents our commitment to child safety, dignity, emotional wellbeing, trauma-informed care, and ethical service delivery. She holds us accountable to the standards families trust us to uphold.

Elefly and Emotional Safety

Elefly supports children through transitions, new environments, and moments where words may not be available. She offers familiarity, reassurance, and comfort, helping children feel seen, supported, and safe.

Elefly Is Here to Stay

Elefly is not a mascot. She is part of who we are. As Myka Place grows, Elefly will continue to be woven into our spaces, systems, and care practices always reminding us of the balance between strength and gentleness.

Why an Elephant

The elephant symbolises strength, protection, emotional intelligence, and unwavering care. Elephants are known for their deep bonds, gentleness, wisdom, and protective nature. At Myka Place, the elephant reminds us that care must be strong, reliable, and protective while remaining calm, patient, and respectful.

Why a Butterfly

The butterfly represents growth, transformation, and hope. It symbolises change that happens gently, at a child’s own pace. For children with disability, progress is unique and personal. The butterfly reminds us to honour each child’s journey without pressure or comparison.
