Our child safety approach is aligned with the National Child Safe Principles (Australia) and is embedded across our governance, service delivery and organisational culture. Safe Recruitment & Screening
 
All staff, contractors and volunteers engaged at Myka Place undergo comprehensive screening prior to commencement, including:
 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • National Police Clearance
  • 395 Check (held by the majority of our workforce)
  • Reference checks

All clearances are verified, recorded and monitored for currency as part of our ongoing compliance and governance processes.
 
Training, Supervision & Culture
 
Our team receives ongoing training in:
 
  • Child safe practices
  • Trauma-informed and disability-aware care
  • Positive Behaviour Support principles
  • Mandatory reporting and incident response
