Myka Place

Consent

At Myka Place, we respect every participant’s right to choice, control and informed consent. Consent is an important part of safe, ethical and transparent service delivery.

We are committed to ensuring that participants, families and guardians understand what they are consenting to, why consent is needed, and that consent can be withdrawn at any time.

What Is Consent?

Consent means giving clear permission for Myka Place to provide supports or take specific actions on behalf of a participant.

Consent must be:

  • Voluntary – given freely, without pressure
  • Specific – related to a particular support or activity
  • Current – up to date and relevant
  • Withdrawable – you can change your mind at any time
